The Oceanogràfic and Bioparc in Valencia are two complementary experiences that make a visit to the city even more special. The Oceanogràfic in Valencia, located within the City of Arts and Sciences, is the largest aquarium in Europe and impresses at first glance with its futuristic architecture and meticulously designed environments. Each area faithfully reproduces different marine ecosystems: from the Mediterranean to tropical oceans, to Arctic areas with striking beluga whales. The underwater tunnel is one of the most exciting moments, as it allows you to watch sharks and rays swimming above your head, giving you a truly immersive experience. A few minutes away is Bioparc Valencia, an innovative zoo designed according to the concept of "zoo immersion." Here, there are almost no visible barriers, and you feel as if you are walking in the African savannah or the equatorial forest. The habitats are carefully reconstructed and are home to lions, giraffes, lemurs, and many other species in large, natural spaces. Both facilities demonstrate a strong commitment to conservation and environmental education. When you visit them, you not only appreciate the beauty of the animals and their environments, but also the importance of protecting them. They are unmissable stops for anyone visiting Valencia, ideal for both families and curious adults.

+1 more

At Bioparc Valencia, Moto Moto the hippo flexed his abs in our faces, an ostrich sprinted like Road Runner, monkeys cracked up—all up close. Best zoo ever!

Oceanogràfic Valencia We had a fantastic experience at the Oceanogràfic in Valencia. The dolphin show was definitely one of the highlights — engaging, well-organized, and truly impressive. The sharks were equally spectacular, especially when walking through the underwater tunnel and seeing them swim right above us. It’s an unforgettable feeling. Everything is beautifully maintained and thoughtfully designed. The different marine environments are carefully curated, making the visit both educational and visually stunning. The entire area where the Oceanogràfic is located is simply breathtaking. The surrounding buildings designed by Santiago Calatrava, within the City of Arts and Sciences, create a unique architectural setting that makes the experience even more special. Overall, it’s an experience that truly deserves a visit. Highly recommended for families, couples, or anyone who appreciates marine life and striking architecture.

Everything was very clean, spacious, the animals looked well cared for, and I thought the admission price was reasonable. Perhaps I would say that there shouldn't be such a big difference between high, mid, and low season prices, but other than that, I would recommend it for a nice day out with the family.

The red bus was punctual. I was able to visit places in the city that I would never have been able to reach on foot. The drivers were helpful, patient, and kind.

Doing a city tour in this way allows us to visit the city’s main landmarks and continue on to the next stop. Great itinerary in Valencia with excellent explanations. Modern and quiet buses. I highly recommend it.

I love it! I've been a couple of times and am always amazed. I think the animals are very well cared for and treated, and the dolphin show is wonderful. For me, it never disappoints. 10 out of 10.

Habitats that feel real

Step into an African savanna where lions, zebras, and giraffes share the same horizon, or wander through a rainforest where gorillas emerge from the greenery. You don’t just see animals here, you feel like you’ve stepped into their world.

Forget zoo-like exhibits

No cages, no fences, just clever design! Think moats, hidden barriers, and natural rock formations. The effect is so convincing, you’ll swear a hippo could just stroll past you (don’t worry, it can’t). The result? You get uninterrupted, safari-style views without ever leaving Valencia.

A living conservation lab

When you buy your Bioparc Valencia tickets, you’re funding breeding programs for endangered species like western lowland gorillas and African elephants. Every euro goes toward protecting habitats and keeping species alive for the next generation.

Learning that sticks

Conservation talks, interactive displays, and the daily “Cycle of Life” show don’t just share facts—they leave you with memorable stories about animal behaviors and the challenges of preserving their habitats.

A day for everyone

Whether it’s kids giggling as lemurs leap overhead, photographers snapping elephants framed by a waterfall, or grandparents strolling shaded paths, Bioparc has something for every age. Everyone leaves a little sunburned, a lot inspired, and very happy.

Things to know before booking your tickets to Bioparc Valencia

  • Unlock full access with standard tickets. You get into every zone and activity. Just pick your time slot.
  • Hot tip: book the first slot of the day. You’ll find thinner crowds at entry, make the most of the day as you get to stay until closing, and the best part? Animals are most active in the morning hours.
  • Want to skip the transport headache? Grab a combo ticket with the hop-on hop-off bus. The red route literally stops a few steps from Bioparc’s entrance, and you can choose from 1-day or 2-day passes to hop-on hop-off buses.
  • Nature buffs, go for a Bioparc + Oceanogràfic ticket and see creatures of both land and sea in one booking. If you’re checking off Valencia bucket-list items, pair Bioparc with a guided tour of Mestalla Stadium
  • Most of Bioparc is wheelchair accessible, but the Madagascar area and the Educational Amphitheatre require a little extra assistance for wheelchair users.
